Happiness is...

Cooking with your eleven year old daughter as she " hosts" a cooking show in the kitchen. She narrated every step we took, asking her "special guest" (me) questions about what we were doing, inviting the audience (other sisters that wandered in and out of the kitchen) to participate and ask questions, chopping carrots and of course pointing out her cute cooing baby sister watching from her baby seat.
Making shepherd's pie has never been so much fun.

And this is too funny...As I have made many online friends at the 4Real Boards she is always asking if all those kids love doing whatever activity we happen to be involved in at the time. I think she is rather fascinated with the idea of my "talking" with moms from all over the world whose families look and live like ours. Last night was no exception, wondering specifically if Elizabeth's oldest daughter could possibly love cooking as much as she does.

How fun! I love cooking with my daughters. BTW, where are you from originally? I still call my parents Mami y Papi. I love that family picture. You are very blessed.

Ruth, I was born in Washington D.C. and have lived in the D.C. Metro area all my life. My father was born in Peru and came here when he was about 15 to go to college. He just became a citizen last Septmeber. My mother was born in Cuba and her family came here as refugees in 1959. And yes, they are still my dear Mami y Papi and I am blessed so many times over. God is good.

I have an eleven year old daughter, too - who loves to cook and I can just see "hosting" a cooking show herself (I'll have to give her the idea.)
