FaithButton

1. I cleaned my room. I mean really cleaned my room.

2. Carmen and I finally opened up and used the little sewing machine she got for Christmas. She had been begging for um, well, months. We have almost completed sewing up a little tote bag. Her joy and enthusiasm is infectious and I'm sorry I waited so long to do this with her. I'll post a picture of the finished product.

3. I had the brilliant idea of doing a Summer Reading Club just here at home. Maybe not so original. Still, it gives me the freedom to assign books and the kids freedom to pick rewards that have real value to them. Besides, at the height of summer around here it can be unbearable outside, especially considering we have a young baby. The hottest parts of the day will be set aside for some comfy cool reading inside.

Love the summer reading!!! What a great idea, inspiring to me! Stay cool and enjoy a good book with a cup of ICED tea lol!

God Bless!

I'm not a good about setting aside times for those crafty things either. It's great she is so excited about sewing.

Good idea about the reading program at home. Especially when you live somewhere they can't be outside during the day.

I LOVE the summer reading idea. That was always my favorite part of school growing up. Definitely will be keeping that idea.

How old do you start to teach sewing? My little girl is 5 in July. Thanks!
