World Cup Cuisine

My sister Julia and I seem to have shared the same thought. Of course, we are total foodies and had to find a way to combine that with the joy and frenzy of Word Cup Soccer. Have I mentioned Carmen's goal of watching every.single.game? Yeah, her siblings, not quite as fond of soccer as she is are not as thrilled. I'm watching as much as I can with her. The Germans blew me away yesterday. What an incrediby talented and disciplined team.

Anyway, back to the food. To celebrate this truly global sporting event, my sister and I are going to plan our menus in honor of some of the different teams playing each day. This morning, since I couldn't make Danish, I made a coffee cake and declared that close enough. I have not planned out our meals yet, but I'll be back here to post as soon as I have. In the meantime, check out the delicious selection my sister has planned.

We can't wait for the weekend! Very special time for our family.

awesome! so excited you're going to make world cup menus too! be sure to share some recipes. antonio actually really liked the algerian chicken. it had a bunch of veggies (cauliflower, squash) and the spices are basically just cinnamon, cumin, and cayenne.
