Easter Morning

God always has a plan. He always knows where You are going to be and how He will meet you there. Sometimes we don't understand why the plan means you really did NOT buy red potatoes the 3 times you went to a grocery store the past week and so you must drive out at 7 am on Easter Sunday morning to buy potatoes because they are a key ingredient in German potato salad (which you will be serving to 20 people at 2 pm). He knows.

Because as you are driving home, and you see the sun climbing up, huge and gorgeous over the tress you will suddenly have in your mind the image of Christ, coming again, with the dawn in the east. And God will bring you back to another dawn, 2,000 years ago as a woman wept in a garden because her Lord had been taken from His tomb. And then she heard her name spoken and knew it was Him. In that moment you will know that Jesus spoke your name in the sunrise, that You might recognize Him and rejoice that He is risen.

May the morning Star which never sets find this flame still burning: Christ, that Morning Star, who came back from the dead, and shed his peaceful light on all mankind, your Son who lives and reigns for ever and ever.
